Happy Holidays, Team Commerce!
As we approach the close of another remarkable year, I want to take a moment to share my heartfelt appreciation for the incredible dedication and enthusiasm each of you has displayed. This year has been a journey filled with challenges and triumphs. I am truly proud of how our team has united One Commerce to serve the people of Utah and fulfill our mission of strengthening trust in Utah’s commercial activities with such commitment. I encourage you to take some time to review our annual report, which showcases our accomplishments for Fiscal Year 2024.
I would like to give a special shout-out to everyone who stepped up over the last few weeks and participated in the “strike team.” This team helped address the processing and customer service backlog resulting from an upgrade to our business registration platform faced by the Divisions of Corporations and ensured that our business filers received important information as well as the completion of their filings. This group included people from Corporations, DOPL, Consumer Protection, Real Estate, Securities, the Communications team, and our friends at the Department of Workforce Services. Your commitment and collaboration have made a significant difference and have helped get corporations back on track since their new system launched in September.
To express our sincere gratitude to all of you, you’ll notice that in your holiday gift bag, we’ve included a small token of appreciation for each of you: a convenient flashlight keychain that doubles as a lantern when you extend the barrel. This symbol is not merely for fun; it represents the critical role each of you plays in illuminating the path for Utahns and our licensees. Throughout the past year, much like the focused beam of a flashlight, we have concentrated on addressing specific issues and providing clarity and guidance. As a guiding light akin to the lantern, we aspire to be a beacon of support for our licensees and stakeholders. Just as these flashlights light the way forward, your dedication illuminates the lives of those we serve.
I hope you get an opportunity to relax and spend time with your loved ones this holiday season. Thank you for the difference you make all year long. Wishing you all a bright holiday season and a shining new year ahead!
Warm regards,
Margaret Busse
